What We Do

Focus On Motorcycle Safety

As you've probably figured out by now, Motorcycle Gearology is focused on motorcycle gear and safety. While that's the focus, it also gives me an outlet to write about something I enjoy.

So what exactly will you find here? Two things really. I enjoy writing about the sport of motorcycling, as that gives me an opportunity to learn new things during my research. So you'll find various articles about motorcycle gear and general topics on motorcycling.

I'm also focused on safety, and won't hit the road without the appropriate gear. As we all know, there are a lot of idiots on the road, and I don't want to take any chances. Some of the gear I buy I love. Others, not so much. I'll do the research for you, whether it's from my own hands on experience, or my detailed investigations. My objective is to give you, the potential buyer, an opportunity to do your own due diligence.

Check things out and let me know what you think.

Who I Am

Not Your Typical Motorcyclist

At least that's what I've been told. Not really sure what a motorcyclist looks like, but apparently I don't fit the mold.

My name is Craig Emerson, and I'm a 50 something IT Professional who works in the financial services industry. I like to geek out on the computer in the evening after my beautiful wife and kids go to bed, dabbling in my latest venture. The current one happens to be on the site you are viewing at this very moment. I've created numerous blogs, some of which I still maintain, and taught myself to code PHP a while back so I could create a social networking application. Who cares that no one used it, I proved to myself I could do it.

So what about this motorcyclist thing? Well, I ride a 2013 Triumph Thruxton, and that's my hobby in the summer months when I can find the time to ride. I guess I don't really look like someone that rides. Whatever! That's what I enjoy, and I'm not about worrying what others think. I happen to gear up every time I hit the road, which gave me the idea for this site. I'm also doing a bit of a case study for myself, to see how realistic it is to earn an income from a blog. I'll probably write about that another day.

In the meantime, I hope you browse around the site and find something of value here.
